Music in the house

The boys are jazzed about band. Mark loaned Reed a clarinet and we purchased a trombone for John today (for the same amount it would have cost to rent it for the school year). They are excited about school band and both were able to get some fairly good sound out of their instruments the first time they tried.
Of course, we bought Anna, Hyrum, and Lizzie kazoos so everyone could have a "new" instrument. Lizzie loves her kazoo, in fact she calls it her trombone.

Man, those clarinet squeaks send shivers down my spine!

Ah yes, the dulcet melodies of the novice musician. Consider yourself lucky that none of your kids have become enamored with the violin. My sister wanted to be the next Yo-Yo Ma for a while...

Seriously though, I wish I'd at least tried to learn how to play an instrument. I've always thought the trumpet would be a great one to learn.
