Paying the Price for Fun

Took Hyrum swimming for his outing last Saturday. The pool complex is pretty fun-actually, it’s a blast for kids. There are a couple of waterslides, a huge bucket that dumps water every 5 minutes or so, and a bunch of other water toys built into the pools. The older I get, the more sheepish I am of cold water. It’s not like the water was freezing or anything, but just cold enough to be a bit uncomfortable. Hyrum loved this red slide. He stood patiently in line, teeth chattering, self-hugging his shivering body, as he waited his turn time and time again. I thought, “He knows how to have fun, and he doesn’t mind paying the price of being a bit uncomfortable along the way.” It was really neat to see this.
