I attended a Stake Auxiliary Training meeting last week. I was reminded just how magnificent the Kingdom of God is. Here we have the largest volunteer organization in the world. We meet numerous times each week, for various reasons, and help each other in various ways; and we do this for the purpose of coming to Christ. In 2 Nephi 25:26, we read:
And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins. And nobody is paid. It truly is amazing. I find strength in my testimony and joy when I ponder this.
Sunday School was nice this past week. Since I teach for my profession, and I often teach in Church, I really enjoy the times that I get to be a student. One topic that came up was the Holy Ghost. We explored the concept that the Holy Ghost was not present during the ministry of Christ in the same way as he has been, and will be present during all other dispensations. The Bible Dictionary sheds some light on the subject, but concedes that this is a fact that is not clearly understood. This is an interesting topic for study. . .
I had the chance to drive some boys around so they could receive Fast Offerings from the ward members. I took time to ponder the wisdom of God in this program. Here, these young men have the opportunity to visit with neighbors as they provide a way for the members to help one another. The young men are blessed for their service, the members are blessed for giving, and those that receive are blessed, too. I asked the boys I was with if they realized what they were doing. They were quick to respond that they were helping those who were less fortunate. It’s nice to know that, despite all the goofing off, the boys are learning some important lessons.
