What would you say to a family who lost someone yesterday at Va Tech? Or Trolley Square? Or in the drunk-driving accidents recently? As I drive in the car feeling sad, confused, angry, shocked, and helpless I think what I might say.
I don't think I would be able to say much at this point. There would be a time for bearing of testimonies--especially of the resurrection. Right now, though I think I would just sing to them. I keep thinking that hymns might bring comfort. Some that I would sing would be:
- Amazing Grace
- Be Still My Soul
- Lead, Kindly Light
- Abide With Me
- I Need Thee Every Hour
- I Know That My Redeemer Lives
- Where Can I Turn For Peace?
