The Spirit of God!

Just finished watching the afternoon session of conference. What a wonderful, energizing, sacred experience. I feel like shouting from the rooftops and Praising the Lord! I won't go on the rooftop, but I can write blog post. . and (more importantly) I can share the experience with the family by gathering together and bearing testimony of the gospel, our prophets, and Our Savior.
I particularly liked the talk that focused on Brigham Young and President Hinckley. We are so blessed to live in a time of prophets. We are all blessed for the sacrifice and vision of Brigham Young. Thanks be to Our Heavenly Father for calling prophets to lead us. And thanks to those prophets, their spouses, and their families for their love and devotion to God and His Kingdom.
I also liked Sister Parkin's talk. I was touched by her message on gratitude. I liked when she pointed out the link between gratitude and faith, as she reminded us that the leper who thanked Jesus was commended on his Faith, not his gratitude.
President Monson's message about Misty White was very touching. The faith of children never ceases to amaze me. A quick story from just two nights ago. . .Hyrum had crawled into our bed in the middle of the night (as he often does). A couple of hours later he popped up. Then he said, "Mom can I lay by you? I just had a bad dream." I scooted over so he could lay in between us. I asked him "do you want to talk to me about it, or what can I do to help you?" He responded, "We could say a prayer." At his request, I offered a prayer that he could sleep peacefully the rest of the night. Here he was, five years old, half asleep. . .and he remembers that prayer can bless his life. It blessed mine, too.
I am so grateful for the gospel, for my family, and for the church.
And I am so grateful for the Tabernacle Choir and The Spirit of God as a closing hymn to this past session. Looking forward to the remaining three sessions.
