Unselfishness

So. Last Monday I was running almost two hours late for work. I could use the excuse that I had to shovel snow (I did) and that I had to run to Walgreen's to get some medication for Lizzie (did that, too); but I really did roll out of bed way too late. As I contemplated going to work so late, I decided that I would just stay home. So I did.

It was nice to hold Lizzie so that she could sleep better. It was also nice to spend a bit of time with Hyrum--I picked him up from school and that was a treat for both of us. We stopped at the gas station on the way home to get a drink and a Reese's for Mom.

When Anna got home, she promptly pulled something out of her bag. It was a twin pack of a Little Debbie Cupcake. She gave one to Hyrum, and the other to John and Reed to split. Then, a short while later, I needed somebody to go to the store with me to pick out Hyrum's gifts as we decided to celebrate his birthday that night. Anna volunteered to go. As soon as she heard that we were having a party for Hyrum, she stopped what she was doing (watching TV) and said, "I am going to go make Hyrum a card." Then, at the store, she didn't ask for anything for herself, but was focused on what to get Hyrum.
