Attended a funeral yesterday of a good friend and neighbor. I was touched during the services, particularly as I reflected upon the service of this gentlemen to our country on the USS Nevada during WWII. I cried as four disabled Veterans performed a ceremoney to retire colors and present a flag to his son. As the Veteran presented the flag, he said something like: by the authority of the President of the United States, and on behalf of the citizens of the United States, we present this flag to you. . .don't put it away, but display it proudly on holidays. . .
God bless America, and God bless those who serve our country.
