During our monthly "shopping day" at Walmart (kids save for the month and get to spend their savings once a month), Hyrum had picked out a Legos spaceship to purchase. As we walked down the aisles to find the others, he said:
"Dad, I don't want to get this one, actually; let's go put it back."
"Okay," I replied.
He continued, "I don't want it because it doesn't have symmetry."
We returned to the Legos section and he found a watercraft that was symmetrical. A future math major, maybe?
FYI, John and Reed purchased a Jonas Brothers CD and some dowels to make light-sabers. Anna couldn't decide what she wanted and was lobbying hard to go get a pet (like she does every shopping day). She did show good self-control by eventually choosing just to wait, instead of buying something just to buy it.
