Two weeks ago, Anna, John, and Reed each completed a Science Project for the school science fair. Anna did her project on Gears, and she used uncle Michael's mountain bike (which has been in our carport for 10 years). We turned the bike upside down in the basement, and Anna conducted some trials to see how far the wheel travelled on certain gears.
John and Reed cooperated in completing a project on catapults and fulcrums. They made catapults with fulcrums at different spots and conducted trials to see how far an object would fly based on the placement of the fulcrum.
A couple of days later, we learned that Anna won first place among all the 1st graders. John and Reed won second place among all the 3rd graders. Yeah! They had a lot of fun.
